Origin: All Italy except Sardinia and the Salento peninsula, as well as in most of Europe, Asia, and some regions of North Africa.
Habitat:  Woodlands with clearings.
Size: approx. 40 cm long.
Weight: 310 to 620 grams.
Feeding: Small mammals, particularly mice, are the favorite food. Do not dislike dormice, squirrels, weasels, various birds, amphibians and invertebrates.
