Origin: Native of the Shetland Islands, Orkney and northern Scotland.
Habitat: It has been exported throughout the world thanks to the characteristics and the ability to adapt itself to various different environments.
Size: Height at Withers: 90-105 cm.
Weight: 150 - 180 kg
Feeding: Hay is the basis of the feeding.
Biology: This is a very tough race, strong, vibrant and tireless. You recognize easily for short legs, tail and mane long and thick coat. May be of various colours. The Shetland pony is the strongest horse in the world in proportion to its size but is docile and for this reason is used in therapeutic programs for the benefit of people with disabilities.
