HERMANN'S TORTOISE
Testudo hermanni

Origin: Northern Italy.
Habitat: They requires sunny areas but also shady areas for "protection".
Size: 20 a 35 cm .
Weight: 2 - 5 kg.
Feeding: Sprout, green leaves, fruits, flowers, vegetables. They take advantage of the vegetable feeding in order to draw from it the water they neede to overcome dry periods.
Biology: The tortoises are animals intelligent, quiet and peaceful. These reptiles have a body enclosed by a bony armor and the senses of smell and touch are very fine. Are long-lived animals (they can live up to 60-100 years) and grow very slowly.
